Newfoundland is an island at the eastern edge of Canada, and with mainland Labrador, comprises the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. In total 7000 islands in the Atlantic ocean are part of this province. It is not unusual to look out to the ocean and see large icebergs passing by. Brightly colored houses are often laid out at various angles and elevations to suit the rocky terrain. It was this random approach to siting that inspired the design of this small home. Two small cottages have been combined to evolve into a unique composition of iconic maritime housing forms with architectural tension and creative interest. This cheerful small home features:
- Open concept living area with vaulted ceiling and centrally located wood stove
- Bedroom has direct access to covered deck at rear
- Stacked washer/dryer just off bedroom
- 1 bedroom
- 1 bath
